Westtown Township, Chester County, PA
Carroll Engineering Corporation (CEC) provided complete engineering, permitting and environmental services for the preliminary and final design for the replacement of the existing single-span bridge. CEC was retained to provide various tasks including the following: survey and base mapping, environmental permitting, structural design, geotechnical engineering, right-of-way, erosion and sediment pollution control plans, and roadway design and safety upgrades. A key design feature of the project included the realignment of Oakbourne Road to improve roadway safety and increase sight distance. Another critical aspect of the project included coordination with SEPTA for right-of-way acquisition and the relocation of water and sewer lines.
