WATER FACILITIES ENGINEERING
Engineering reliable water facilities that support safe supply, efficient treatment, and long-term system performance.
Engineering Smarter Water Facilities
With projects ranging from developing new groundwater supply sources to replacement of aging water mains in densely developed commercial corridors, Carroll Engineering’s water facilities engineering experience allows us to provide comprehensive services to our clientele. CEC serves water system owners, large and small, in Southeast Pennsylvania, the Poconos, and New Jersey. CEC has experience in planning and designing water facilities from source to endpoint. This includes new groundwater supply wells, transmission mains, booster stations, pressure-reducing stations, storage tanks, and distribution systems. Our engineers utilize computerized system modeling to account for “what-if” scenarios when proposing system improvements for cost-effective system upgrades and expansion. We also work with our clients’ neighboring water suppliers to create interconnected systems that allow system owners to buy or sell water as necessary to meet each system’s needs and provide supplemental water sources in times of emergency.
Our broad technical capabilities allow us to provide in-house treatment and remediation systems designed to address volatile organic compounds, heavy metals, dissolved minerals, and PFOA/PFOS. Innovative solutions such as Antenna Corrals allow colocation of cellular phone infrastructure on water storage tanks permitting complete tank maintenance and painting access. Our system operation and SCADA experience allow for the design of new facilities to be easily integrated into overall system operations.

Featured Water Facilities Projects
General Hancock Water Tank
Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, PA
The North Wales Water Authority has completed the construction of a 4.1-million-gallon elevated water storage tank in Montgomery Township, PA. This tank is one of the largest fluted column elevated steel water storage tanks in the US, standing at 175 feet in height and 135 feet in diameter. This tank is of the same design and capacity as another NWWA Tank. CEC completed all the site engineering, obtained necessary approvals, prepared contract documents, facilitated bidding, and administered the construction contract on behalf of NWWA. The entire construction process spanned 3 years.
Forest Park Transmission Main
Warrington Township, Bucks County, PA
10 miles of 30” through 42” diameter water transmission mains provide a new source of water for Lower Bucks County, PA. The transmission main is part of major upgrades to the North Wales Water Authority’s water system. CEC completed all the necessary approvals, prepared contract documents, facilitated bidding, and administered the construction contract on behalf of NWWA.
