Station Road-Old Bethlehem Pike Roundabout
Richland Township, Bucks County, PA
Station Road, originally a state highway, was “turned back” to Richland Township so it could make changes to the intersection. This was the first roundabout to be constructed in the State of Pennsylvania and has reduced accidents significantly at this previously signalized intersection.
CEC designed the roundabout, with the approach roadway entering at a perpendicular to slow traffic within the circle. The center island’s 20-foot-wide concrete apron, which accommodates large vehicles, is treated with a product that simulates field stone to match the old Shaw homestead on the corner.
Wayne Business District Streetscape
Radnor Township, Delaware County, PA
CEC utilized aerial imagery, PennDOT maps, and GIS data to create a base map for the corridor. We conducted a PA One Call for utility conflicts before a detailed field view. The project consisted of the removal and replacement of approximately 60 trees. CEC prepared a general site plan as well as traffic control and pedestrian safety control. Also, we included parking lot striping and tree replacement details, with input from the Township Arborist.
